Meet the Brinkley Financial Team

David Brinkley

President/Owner/Financial Advisor

David obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Carolina University and entered the financial services industry in 1981 spending two years with two of the larger companies in the business. He subsequently formed Diversified Business Concepts and developed a substantial background and expertise in estate tax and retirement planning. The company changed names to Brinkley Financial Group in 2006. David is currently the President and owner of the company.

David has qualified for many industry and company awards such as President’s Cabinet, the National Quality Award, Cambridge Investment Research Circle of Excellence, and Cambridge Investment Research Premier Club.

Brinkley Financial Group was named in the Charlotte Business Journal as one of the Largest Area Financial Planning Firms ranked by assets under management locally. David has developed a loyal following of clients by striving to make seemingly complex financial strategies understandable to everyone.

David works with individuals and closely-held business owners in investment planning, developing a “game plan” to retire comfortably, and how to manage estate tax. David’s team is currently one of the largest financial advisors in the Charlotte area.

David is currently active in his industry and holds FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses and is an Investment Advisor Representative with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., a Broker/Dealer and member FINRA/SIPC. In addition, he has provided estate and financial education courses for corporations and colleges.

He is actively involved in Central United Methodist Church of Kings Mountain serving as chairman of the Endowment Fund. He is also a member of the Finance Committee and Administrative Council for Central United Methodist Church. David also serves on the Advisory Board of the Life Enrichment Center. He serves on the Board of Directors at Gardner-Webb University. David is a charter member and president of the Kings Mountain Touchdown Club.

David and his wife, Marie, reside in Kings Mountain, NC. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, golf, and outdoor activities.

Carrie Brinkley Jones

Financial Advisor/Portfolio Analyst

Carrie Brinkley Jones is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. She served as vice-president of the Student Investment Club and was a member of Graduates in Executive Management. She was also a member of the Gardner-Webb University Volleyball team, serving as captain her senior year.

She began her career at Spring Global. In 2007, she joined Brinkley Financial Group. Carrie is responsible for reviewing each client’s portfolio and developing the best approaches for financial investing based on each individual’s needs. She currently holds the FINRA Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 registrations. She is an Investment Advisor Representative with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., a Broker/Dealer and member FINRA/SIPC.

She, her husband Bryan, son Colton, and daughter Brinkley, resides in Belmont, NC. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, reading, and crafting.

Marie Brinkley *

Business Manager

Marie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Merchandising from Western Carolina University. Marie Brinkley is our Business Manager and is responsible for accounting and payroll.

She serves on the Mauney Memorial Library of Kings Mountain board of directors.  She is president of the United Methodist Women at Central United Methodist Church. She also serves on the Administrative Council and the Board of Trustees for Central United Methodist Church of Kings Mountain.

In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, gardening, and exercising.

Alice Clifford *

Administrative Assistant

Alice joined the staff in June 2017. Originally from MA, she has lived in Charlotte, NC for two years and currently resides here.  Alice has four children, Sean, Leah, Cole and Jessica.  Alice has been in the administrative field for over 15 years.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children, gardening, and fishing.
